| About Davao City, Philippines
Davao City is the largest and most progressive city in the Mindanao, which is the most southern island in the Philippines. Independent of any province, Davao is a popular tourist destination and a major hub for national and international business. With over 1.3 million residents and a daytime population of 4 million, the city has been named as an "Asian City of the Future" and is probably most known for it's production and export of the popular Durian fruit.
Located just 588 miles (or 946 kilometers) away from the capital city of Manila, the weather is always hot, humid, and balmy with an average daily temperature of 90 degrees (Fahrenheit) or 32 degrees (Celsius). Annual rainfall can be up to 2,000 mm, but Davao City is one of the only major cities in the Philippines that is virtually typhoon-free. The city is naturally protected by a peninsula that literally shields it from major tropical storms and tidal waves.

The only non-stop international destination from the airport is to Singapore, which is serviced by Silk Air a few times a week.
